Payphones of the World

Tokyo, Japan

In front of Legislative Diet Building. Has an LCD screen shows instructions and time remaining, among other things. The two horrizontal slots below the dialing buttons are for the insertion and ejection of phonecards.

The panel below that is for ISDN hook-up, enabling video-conferencing on the fly. The box below the phone sells phonecards. I have been told that these phones, if they detect a fake phonecard, lock the user inside and call the police. I didn't test it.
