A rather subtle hack of the Macworld and Macweek sites involved slipping in a story about a "merge" between Apple and Intel on January 4, 1999. As this took place on the eve of Macworld in San Francisco, it caused a reasonable amount of consternation.
There is also a story mixed in with the real stories about the Swedish hackers who were supposedly behind this.
