HACKED Slashdot

Grab of the Hacked page

Monday, September 14, 1998

One day after the New York Times was hacked with a pro-Mitnick message, the web page of slashdot.org was hacked with a brief anti-Mitnick and anti-2600 message. We doubt the FBI has any interest in solving this one. To be honest, we sure don't. But the authenticity of this hack is in question as the group allegedly taking responsibility (H4G1S) has hacked pages in the past with pro- Mitnick sentiments and links to 2600, most notably the NASA hack of early 1997. Just further proof that in the world of web hacking, nobody's in control.
