On October 24, 1997, I was interviewed on The Rocky Allen Showgram on New York's WPLJ concerning the infamous subway sign hack. This was nothing more than someone reprogramming a sign on an escalator that said "Have a Nice Day" to read "2600: The Hacker Quarterly" instead. It had nothing whatsoever to do with hacking a computer network or the subway system. But it somehow fell into the news cycle and virtually every television and radio station in the city had something to say about it. At least these guys gave me the chance to put it into perspective.
